Notes from the first snow at Ålesund
The fjord went quiet overnight. We lit the stove, wrote less than we planned, and watched the first snow settle on the deck at Ålesund. Some trips are for output. This one was for returning slower than we arrived.
What the first snow does to a cabin
Sound drops. Edges soften. The glass starts to earn the extra specification we argued about in summer. You go outside for wood and come back with wet sleeves and a better reason to sit still. We had a list of pages to finish. We finished the fire instead, then one page, then dinner. That order was correct.

Come for winter, not for a caption
Photographs of snow are easy. The feeling of a room holding heat against a fjord is not. If you want that version, request a winter stay. The notes will still be here when you get back — shorter, probably, than you expected to write.
Stay
Sleep in the rooms these notes came from
The journal is not the product. The cabins are. Request a stay if a room here fits the week you actually need.
